A Message From The President
Dear Members Players, Sponsors and Supporters.
As you are all aware by now, The Kangaroo Rugby League Club has been forced to cease operations of its Licensed Leagues Club, Football training and games as well as all additional Gym, Fitness and facility user activities as per the directions of The Australian Government in the wake of COVID -19.
This is extremely necessary to help curb the spread of this infectious disease which we find affecting our community and changing our life as we know it.
The Kangaroos Committee and I, look forward to the time when we can unlock our gates and open our doors and welcome you all back to Kangaroos Vico Oval to watch a Football game, support our wonderful licensed club, use our well maintained sporting facility, and once again enjoy the mate-ship, social events, community cultural and family activities that we are very proud to provide to you all.
We will need to support each other more than ever so we can get through this pandemic together and hopefully come out of it in good health.
We have been advised by QRL, in relation to the Local League Season, that there is a possibility that games could recommence on Saturday 9th May , but this will be entirely based on the future outcomes, implications, progress and containment of COVID -19 , and again we will be directed by the Federal government in this decision as the situation and decisions are changing daily.
I have below a link from the Australian Department of Health Website for you to download up to date resources and information about COVID -19. https://www.health.gov.au/resources/collections/novel-coronavirus-2019-ncov-resources
In addition, for our footy players: QRL Tips to stay mentally fit during the footy hiatus:https://www.qrl.com.au/news/2020/03/25/tips-to-stay-mentally-fit-during-footy-hiatus/
I urge you to please continue to follow the advice provided by the State and Federal Governments, practice good hygiene and social distancing and avoid public gatherings, check on any elderly neighbours or friends regularly to make sure they are OK and most importantly stay safe,
Look forward to seeing you all back at Kangaroos real soon!!
