It's thanks to our hardworking committee that our club continues to function.
Brett first joined the senior club as a player in 1980. He joined the committee for the first time in 1982. In 1994 he was appointed A grade coach and coached a further 4 years as A grade coach from 1998 to 2001. Brett joined the committee again in 2002 as a treasurer and in 2005 took over as president for the next 8 years. In 2014 he was awarded a life membership and in 2016 appointed as the Patron of the club. Brett has been the local Cairns manager of Hanson concrete for 13 years prior to working at the Commonwealth bank for 25 years. “I returned to the committee in 2018 as vice president to support President Glenn Stewart and to help ensure the club is around for another 80 years”
Anita became a member and a part of the Kangaroo family in 2004, joining the senior committee as secretary in 2013 and as Ground Announcer for Seniors from 2004 until the present day. Anita teaches event management at TAFE AND also has run her own event management business Anita Plos Management Pty Ltd for over 26 years. Anita Plos Management has been an avid sponsor of kangaroos seniors, throughout the years with logos on shirts, fences, mugs, players shorts, dress shorts and singlets.
Gina started with the club juniors over 25 years ago, and has been a senior committee member since 2004. Gina manages the Corporate Box and help out where ever she is able with the day to day running of the club.
A member of Kangaroo Rugby League Club since 1996, his son Kieran has played all his Junior and A grade footy for Roos during those years. Joined the committee in late 2018, as he feels the club has turned a corner, and is really going full steam ahead, in the right direction. Self employed since 2002, and I hope that his experience in business and footy, will be of some assistance to the club going forward.
Joined Kangaroo League Club in 2015 when he reopened the bistro with his wife. In 2016 he joined the committee, adding his management experience to help grow the club into a family friendly environment that players and locals will enjoy. In 2018 Matt took over the management of the bar and function areas in the club.
Lorraine rejoined Kangaroos football club some time ago after moving to the area. The club has been her local for many years for drinks and meals with family. She has enjoyed helping the club out whenever the need arises. Lorraine joined the committee in late 2018, with a strong committee group she believes the club will make great progress in the future.
